Robust Engine Options

With regard to performance, the Ford Super Duty features carry over into the new model year, meaning customers will still get a standard gas-powered 6.2-liter V8 with 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The Super Duty also comes standard with a six-speed automatic, although a 10-speed automatic gearbox is available. Users also get to choose either two- or four-wheel drive to match performance to conditions.

If you desire more power for your application, you can choose the available 7.3-liter V8 that produces 430 hp and 475 pound-feet. If that's still not enough, you can opt for the Power Stroke diesel engine, a 6.7-liter V8 that unleashes 475 horsepower and an astounding 1050 pound-feet of torque.

When equipped with the Ford Super Duty high capacity trailer tow package and the 6.7L Power Stroke V8 diesel engine, the F-250's maximum towing capacity reaches 22,800 lbs. As well as that, the heavy-duty pickup truck can haul up 4,260 lbs pounds of payload.

Comfortable & Super Luxurious

Beyond the superb Ford Super Duty towing specs, you'll also admire the truck for its comfortable, luxurious, and pleasant cabin. However, the 2022 model year Ford Super Duty differs from its predecessor by its new interior color options. The Lariat trim now adds Baja, while the Limited model includes Navy Pier and Light Slate.

Outside, the 2022 Ford has a new paint job (Atlas Blue) and a Sport appearance package in the Lariat trim that adds new bumpers, exterior mirrors, a color-matched grille, black running boards, and chrome exhaust tips.

That said, both models offer LED lighting, storable loading ramps, power-retractable running boards, and a remote-operated power-locking tailgate.

Advanced Technology & Safety Features

Another area where the new Super Duty sees a significant change for the 2022 model year is technology. The 2022 Ford Super Duty now has an optional 12.0-inch touchscreen with Ford's Sync 4 software and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto. In contrast, the 2021 model year offers an available 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto.

That said, features such as a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, etc., carry over unchanged.

The new Super Duty’s safety features are also virtually unchanged from the 2021 model year. That means you get amenities like adaptive cruise control, rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, etc., on both models.
