The Champion Pony Car Gets a Redesign

After 2024, only one iconic pony car will remain: the Mustang. This iconic muscle car is entering its seventh generation and sixth decade, and it’s only getting better. The newest Mustang, especially the Mustang Dark Horse, will quickly remind drivers why internal combustion engines need to stick around.

We invite you to visit Wood Motor Ford in Jane, MO, to explore the latest Mustang lineup. Our team can arrange a test drive, and we’re confident you’ll find the 2024 Ford Mustang performance more than satisfying.

The Seventh Generation is Track-Ready

The 2024 Ford Mustang features a handful of engine options and several performance packages - all with rear-wheel drive. All models have a standard 10-speed automatic transmission, but drivers can opt for a six-speed manual transmission.

Mustang’s entry-level engine is a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Ford offers the 2.3L High Performance package that outfits the EcoBoost trims with paddle shifters, Brembo brakes, 19-inch wheels, a limited-slip differential, an electronic drift brake lever, and more.

The Ford Mustang GT models come with the legendary 5.0-liter V8 with 480 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. Drivers can add the GT Performance package with the same features as the 2.3L High Performance package along with a performance rear spoiler and upgraded chassis bracing.

The king of the 2024 Mustang is the new Dark Horse, and it’s an absolute beast. It comes with a 500-horsepower V8 engine and all the performance features in the GT Performance pack. Ford adds a larger radiator, additional oil coolers, an upgraded air intake, an active exhaust, and a larger rear sway bar. This model is track-ready and has the horsepower and torque that drivers expect in a performance EV.

Innovative Tech in a Classic Muscle Car

The classic muscle car is chock full of technology that drivers expect in 2024. The entry-level Mustang EcoBoost comes with a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster and a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a USB port, FordPass Connect, and six speakers.

The EcoBoost Premium trim has the same features plus SiriusXM Satellite Radio, HD Radio, nine speakers, more USB ports, ambient lighting, and wireless device charging. The Dark Horse trim has the same features along with a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo that enhances the growl of the V8 engine.

Ford Motor Company takes pride in building safe cars, so the Mustang sports cars are outfitted with Rear Parking Sensors, Forward Collision Warning, Forward Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Departure Warning, Lane-Keep Assist, a Rearview Camera, and Automatic High-Beam Headlights. Ford adds Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic-Sign Recognition to the Dark Horse trim.
